In a collaborative endeavour, we teamed up with architect Bayley Ward and landscape designer Jack Merlo to rejuvenate this two-story Victorian period home and its garden oasis. Nestled in the heart of South Yarra, our challenge was to seamlessly blend modern exteriors with heritage elements. Meticulous restoration of the home required precision and craftsmanship, reflecting our expertise in preserving period homes and streamlining the project from inception to completion.
The outcome is a home flooded with natural light, offering privacy and security, with dedicated spaces for the client’s adult children on the first floor. The ground floor revolves around a spacious kitchen and living area that seamlessly transitions to the pool and garden, complemented by a stately study and library facing the street. The landscape design provides additional serene spaces, with the pool set against an elegant backdrop of brick and steel. Embracing the past while embracing the future, this home epitomizes a harmonious blend of classic and contemporary design.
